College Planning, Financial Aid & Scholarships
At St. John Neumann, our counselor helps students be successful in their academic path and prepare for meaningful careers in the field of their choice.  During a student's senior year, our guidance counselor meets with them several times to discuss post-secondary planning.  Our staff works to prepare our students with strategies and techniques for the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT), the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), and Advanced Placement exams.
At St. John Neumann Regional Academy, approximately 95% of our seniors pursue a college education.  One hundred percent of those that apply are accepted.

PHEAA is offering two virtual FAFSA Overview webinars in March for students and their families who may need help in completing the 2021-22 FAFSA application. This webinar will be very helpful to seniors who have not competed the FAFSA application. The first webinar will be offered on March 3, 2021 at 6:30 PM and the second webinar will be offered on March 24, 2021 at 6:30 PM. After each webinar PHEAA will have staff available to assist students and their families with any follow up questions they may have at that time. Student can call the toll free number at 1-800-722-8289. Details about the webinars and phone number are listed on the this flyer.

Understanding the Financial Aid Offer & Balances: The Financial Aid Offer, or Financing Plans, that you receive to provide an idea of the costs associated with attending post secondary education can be confusing as each school formats their information differently. PHEAA, represented by Linda Pacewicz and Daniel Wray of PA Forward are offering a one hour webinar to assist in understanding and navigating through the types of Aid listed, what you are being offered and identifying the balances and next steps needed. Q&A interaction is encouraged. Event Dates:

Thursday, February 25 – Noon (ET)

Poster Contest:
Each year, many young lives are drastically changed or cut short by risky behaviors like driving under the influence of alcohol or texting while driving. Motor vehicle crashes involving teenagers are especially heartbreaking, because most of these teen tragedies are fully preventable.
At Metzger Wickersham personal injury law firm, we are committed to promoting education and awareness about safe driving through community outreach. We would like to remind you of our annual Road to Safety Scholarship Contest, which encourages young drivers to get involved in spreading the message to keep our roads safe.
Graduating, college-bound seniors may submit a creative project about the dangers of drunk driving or distracted driving for their chance to win college scholarship money. First, second and third place winners will be selected by our panel of judges and will receive $1,000, $750 and $500 scholarships, respectively.
To inspire your students, consider sharing the 2020 Scholarship Entries below for inspiration:
All projects must be the original work of the entrant. Entries cannot include Copyright graphics, photos or songs. We are no longer accepting essays or poems.
