Dear St. John Neumann Regional Academy Parents and Guardians:
The dedicated fundraising commitment from all of our families over the past few years has allowed the Academy to keep its tuition rates at the lowest level possible. We are most grateful to all of you who participate in and volunteer at our fundraisers. As you know, funds raised through the Fundraising Committee’s efforts are a crucial component to our school’s budget, and we cannot operate efficiently unless we meet our goal. Our goal for the 2009-10 school year is $250,000, and every family’s help is needed to ensure that we meet the goal.
For the 2009-10 school year, the requirement for all families with children in grades PreK-12 remains unchanged at $220 in raffle tickets and 10 volunteer hours. Specifically:
- 10 volunteer hours to the Academy. You may opt to buy out of the volunteer hours at a cost of $150 per family. A donation of a basket for our Basket Bonanza will earn you 3 hours. A donation of a mega-basket or auction prizes(s), with a value of at least $150, will relieve you of all 10 volunteer hours. Volunteer help is always needed in our cafeterias at lunchtime and in our libraries, at our monthly Bingo fundraiser, and with our various fundraisers throughout the year. Hours can also be earned by participating in our voucher program.
- Fall Raffle: each family is required to sell or buy $120 in tickets. This fundraiser takes the place of Cow Pie Bingo, and will be a raffle ticket composed of all cash prizes. Tickets will sell for $10 each. Tickets will be sent to each family in August.
- March Madness Raffle: each family is required to sell or buy $100 in tickets. This ticket features prizes such as jewelry, gift certificates, etc. Tickets will sell for $5 each or 5 for $20. Tickets will be sent to each family in late January.
We wish to reiterate once again that all of the other Catholic school systems in the Diocese of Scranton have a mandatory $500 fundraising fee per family. Our committee has been diligent with our fundraising efforts, and has tried to not overtax our families. We work hard throughout the year to implement fundraisers that are profitable. But we need the $220 raffle ticket commitment from each family to meet our goal.
Over the summer months, we will send out a Parent Volunteer Commitment Form for you to signify how you intend to fulfill your ten volunteer hours to the Academy.
Thank you for your continued generous support of all SJNRA fundraisers and for your dedicated commitment to volunteering at the Academy. Your help is so very important to the livelihood of our school. May God continue to bless you, your family, and St. John Neumann Regional Academy.
Sincerely,
St. John Neumann Fundraising Committee
