March 2010
Dear St. John Neumann Regional Academy Parents and Guardians:
Our fundraising efforts over the past several years have been extremely successful, and we thank all of you for your continued dedicated support. As we prepare for the 2010-11 school year, we find ourselves with the need to raise additional funds to compensate for the decreased parish assessments which will affect our budget in the upcoming school year. An increased fundraising commitment for all of our families will be implemented in order to address a portion of the shortfall. Although this will certainly present a hardship to some families, we ask that you remain committed and stand strong with us to overcome this financial deficit. Every family’s help is needed to ensure that we meet our fundraising commitment.
For the 2010-11 school year, the requirement for all families with children in grades PreK-12 is $500 in raffle tickets and 10 volunteer hours. Specifically:
- 10 volunteer hours to the Academy. You may opt to buy out of the volunteer hours at a cost of $150 per family. A donation of a basket for our Basket Bonanza will earn you 3 hours. A donation of a mega-basket or auction prizes(s), with a value of at least $150, will relieve you of all 10 volunteer hours. Volunteer help is always needed in our cafeterias at lunchtime and in our libraries, at our monthly Bingo fundraiser, and help will be needed with our various fundraisers throughout the year. Hours can also be earned by participating in our voucher program, donating your time to work at our sporting events concession stand or door, or serving as a member of the Neumann Parent Athletic Association (NPAA).
- Golden Harvest Raffle: each family is required to sell or buy $250 in tickets. Tickets will be sent to each family in early September.
- March Madness Raffle: each family is required to sell or buy $250 in tickets. Tickets will be sent to each family in early February.
Our committee has been diligent with our fundraising efforts, and has tried to not overtax our families with unnecessary and nuisance fundraisers. We work hard throughout the year to implement fundraisers that are profitable and successful. The $500 raffle ticket commitment from each family is an essential component of the fundraising budget, and we need every family’s help to meet our goal.
Over the summer months, we will send out a Parent Volunteer Commitment Form for you to signify how you intend to fulfill your ten volunteer hours to the Academy.
Thank you for your continued generous support of all SJNRA fundraisers and for your dedicated commitment to volunteering at the Academy. Your help is so very important to the livelihood of our school. May God continue to bless you, your family, and St. John Neumann Regional Academy.
Sincerely,
Kathy M. Bahr
